More Tools for Intervenors
Several people asked me last night at the meeting in Buckhannon (attended by at least 120 people) if there was a form for intervening in the PSC case for PATH. The PSC does not have pre-printed forms, but listed below are links to several petitions to intervene that have already been filed on the PSC Web site. I have tried to provide a variety of styles and formats.
I’ve titled each link to a petition below by its basic format:
A simple letter from an individual
Petition from the WV Energy Users Group prepared by a lawyer
A letter from an individual with detailed descriptions of impact
My amended petition, responding to power company objections
Petition from the WV Sierra Club and the WV Highlands Conservancy prepared by a lawyer
PSC regulations require only that your petition to intervene states your name and address, your “legal interests” that you are asserting in the case and relief that you are requesting from the PSC. The format for your petition can be a simple letter or it can follow the lawyerly form shown in the lawyer-prepared petitions linked above.
To find all the information on The Power Line about becoming an intervenor, type “intervenor” in the search box in the right hand column on this page and hit Enter. The search will pull up all the posts I have done over the last few months including information on PSC regulations for intervenors, suggested reasons for intervening, where to send your petition, and how to contact the PSC.
In the near future, some of us are planning to set up a password protected blog, assessible only to citizen intervenors, where we can share information and help each other through the PSC process.
