More Trouble for PATH in Frederick County, MD
The County Commissioners of Frederick County, MD have sent a letter to the MD PSC asserting their right to decide whether Allegheny Energy can put its huge substation in the county. Here is the link to the MD PSC case file 9198. The Frederick County letter can be reached by clicking on the number of item 62 at the bottom of the list of documents.
In its September order dismissing the PATH case, the MD PSC also asserted its authority over the location of the Kemptown substation at the eastern end of the PATH line in Frederick County, MD. The county’s Commissioners don’t agree.
Even if AEP/Allegheny figure out how to do a PATH application in MD, it looks like there will be a nasty three way showdown over the Kemptown substation.
