WV PSC Refuses to Order Study of WV Transmission Lines
Let’s see, a WV PSC staff attorney petitions the PSC to order a study of the high voltage transmission system in the state, the Consumer Advocate Division supports that petition. Both AEP and FirstEnergy respond by saying they can go along with doing the study, but they want a little more time than the staff and CAD wanted to give them.
And the response of the WV PSC — Nothing. They dismissed the petition, and are content to remain ignorant about the condition of the state’s high voltage transmission lines. Until the next transmission line application comes along and the power companies and PJM run around screaming that the sky is falling.
Why won’t the WV PSC stand up and do its homework so it can protect our citizens the next time an out of state corporation wants to take our land and force us to pay for a new transmission line that isn’t needed?
