Knowledge Is Power
The Power Line is about knowledge. The Power Line is about power. AEP and Allegheny Energy want to cut their new PATH transmission line through the heart of West Virginia. The Power Line is a blog for those of us who believe that this project is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
On May 15, 2009 (the original filing date of September 2008 has been delayed three times), the power companies filed their case for the PATH project with the West Virginia Public Service Commission. We all need to make strong cases before the PSC against this project, because the power companies will be spending lots of money to convince people that this new transmission line is needed. The PSC is an important part of stopping PATH, but we need to oppose PATH in every public forum so that we generate overwhelming opposition to this power line.
There are lots of reasons why the PATH project is wrong. The Power Line will provide you with information and Internet links that will let you see for yourself why this project will not do what the power companies claim and what the alternatives look like. More important, The Power Line is designed to give you the facts that you can use to convince your friends and neighbors that PATH should not be built.
If you are new to the world of blogs, be aware that this blog will change frequently as we add new posts on a regular basis. There will always be something new on The Power Line about PATH, so check back at least once a week to see what’s new. You can find past postings by clicking on “previous entries” at the bottom of the page, clicking on past months on the Archives list at the top of the right hand column or by clicking on a Search by Tags topic also in the right column.
