Allegheny’s Distribution System Coming Apart in Calhoun County

I am not used to breaking news on The Power Line, but as I write this, Grantsville’s business district has just experienced its second major incident of power disruption in the last week.

As I write, I am watching an Allegheny Energy repair man put out a fire on a Grantsville pole.  Last week, a transformer exploded.

In both cases, Grantsville businesses have experienced blackouts and damaged equipment.

West Virginians need electrical reliability now.  New transmission lines to the East Coast will do nothing to help our collapsing distribution system and will rob our state of needed infrastructure development in our homes and communities.
