Report on July 15 TrAIL PSC Hearing

I was away on vacation, but some of our friends from the Eastern Panhandle made the journey to Charleston to attend the July 15 PSC hearing about FirstEnergy’s right of way fiasco on the TrAIL project.  This was to be the final day of hearings in this case that three West Virginia land owners had brought to enforce the PSC’s order regarding the clearing of rights of way for the TrAIL high voltage transmission line that was built in the last two years.

FirstEnergy was to present testimony in response to John Coleman’s devastating testimony in late March documenting clearly FirstEnergy’s violation of the August 2008 PSC final order that Allegheny Energy (now FirstEnergy) committed to follow.  Now that Mr. Coleman’s aerial photographs are before the commission, FirstEnergy is trying to blame WV loggers and private land owners for the mess its clearing contractor, Connecticut and Canadian company Supreme Industries, created.

Here is Keryn’s eyewitness account of the hearing.
