Grounded Providing Excellent Coverage of Harrison Scheme Cross-Examination Testimony

I have been busy with my first cutting of hay for the last few days, so I haven’t been able to cover the final hearing on FirstEnergy’s Harrison scheme.  Pam Kasey has been doing a great job over at Grounded.  She featured the highlights of the first day of cross-examination of company witnesses here and the second day here.

According to Pam’s account, there don’t seem to have been any surprises.  Company witnesses claim that there is nothing wrong with charging WV rate payers double the plant’s book value and that there really was some kind of negotiation between a lower level manager at Mon Power and Allegheny Energy Supply over price, even though Mon Power ended up accepting Allegheny Energy’s starting price.  Any WV farmer could tell you that isn’t much of a negotiation, and Mon Power came out on the bad end of that trade.

And don’t forget, you can watch the third day of the hearing here on the WV PSC Web cast.

  1. Let’s be charitable in how we use the term “farmer.” Now if you had said any “BUREAUCRAT or CORPORATE EXECUTIVE” that’s something else.
Don’t you understand that the only purpose of those who domicile here in CORPORATIA is to hand the funds over to the corporate lard butts, and thank them, for taking it?
I propose that the Capitol of WEST CORPORAGINIA (Virginia, for the uninitiated) should be moved to community whose name more closely fits the government activities…GRAFTON. I do not know the origin of the name, and I know it has nothing to do with dishonesty, but the name certainly is suitable for a state capitol.
