WV FirstEnergy Rate Payers Hit with New $7.5 Million Increase

Back on May 29, the WV PSC told FirstEnergy’s WV subsidiaries that they could raise electric rates to pay for a new system of reading meters every month.  Well, now we know what that will cost – $7.5 million per year.  And WV rate payers will pay every penny.

Keryn has the story on FirstEnergy’s amended rate increase petition at the PSC.  This new charge will raise FirstEnergy’s new rate increase request to an incredible 17.2%.
