On July 28, the WV PSC issued it’s final order creating an application form for small solar power producers who want to be certified to sell renewable credits in WV. The PSC also changed its rules to allow small producers to record their inverter meters, instead of having to buy special utility grade meters.
Both of these features are common in states with real, functioning renewable credit markets. No one at the Legislature or the PSC cared about these rules, because WV’s fake Alternative and Renewable Portfolio Standard is rigged so no renewable credits will ever have to be traded in WV.
If you are a solar power producer in WV, you should still register to sell credits. This an important way that we can show politicians and regulators that we are here, and we mean business.
